"I'll Never Dear Again" is a song from the 2022 film A Star Is Built-in, performed by its stars Lady Gaga and director Bradley Cooper whose grapheme sings the final chorus in the flashback scene. The soundtrack contained both versions of the song including the extended version that featured Gaga every bit the sole performer. Gaga wrote the vocal with Natalie Hemby, Hillary Lindsey, and Aaron Raitiere. Both tracks were produced by Lady Gaga and Benjamin Rice.

In her review of the pic, Melina Newman of Billboard chosen the ballad "stunning".[10] The magazine's Tatiana Cirisano ranked Lady Gaga'southward performance of "I'll Never Love Over again" as the picture show's best scene and wrote, "Not only are the lyrics devastatingly cute, but Gaga/Ally showcases her full, skyscraper-high range."[11] Jon Pareles of The New York Times compared the vocal to Harry Nilsson'due south "Without You" and Eric Carmen's "All by Myself", and complimented Gaga's "old-school finesse, timing, emotionality and lung ability".[12] Pitchfork 's Larry Fitzmaurice called the song a "stunning, centre-wrenching closer" and wrote, "... fifty-fifty though 'I'll Never Dear Over again' is plenty effective on its own, the dialogue-included version of the song dramatically cuts out in its terminal seconds the same way the flick does: jumping dorsum in time from Gaga'due south fourth dimension-stopping operation to a pivotal and heartbreaking scene that merely enhances the song's emotional quotient".[13]
